Why Ultrasonic Antifouling

Traditional antifouling relies on coatings, chemicals, and frequent cleaning. Ultrasonic antifouling provides a modern alternative by preventing fouling before it starts.

By transmitting controlled ultrasonic energy through the hull using a 24V electrical system, the technology disrupts the ability of microorganisms to settle and attach. This significantly reduces biofouling across the entire underwater surface without the use of toxic paints or consumables.

How the System Works

Ultrasonic transducers are permanently mounted inside the hull and powered by the vessel’s 24V electrical system. These emit high-frequency ultrasonic signals through the hull structure.

This energy creates microscopic vibration and a thin high-pressure layer at the hull–water boundary, preventing microorganisms from attaching. The system operates continuously while the vessel is afloat, requires minimal power, and has no ongoing consumables.

How It Works


Farraige Dynamics ultrasonic antifouling technology prevents marine growth by stopping organisms from attaching to underwater surfaces.
Ultrasonic transducers installed within the vessel emit controlled high-frequency waves that travel through the hull structure. These waves create an ultra-thin, high-pressure layer at the boundary between the hull and the surrounding water.
This microscopic pressure zone disrupts the ability of microorganisms to settle and attach, significantly reducing fouling without the use of chemicals or coatings.
